EnviroVent is one of the first manufacturers to offer the NICEIC Certification accredited training and assessment course for installers of ventilation equipment.
The new course will be delivered at EnviroVent’s dedicated training centre in Harrogate, and covers ventilation technologies, including Central Extract and Heat Recovery. Valid for five years, the two-day course provides an overview of the techniques used for installation and covers the key terminology and regulations associated with domestic ventilation systems and the whole process of installing, testing and commissioning.
Installers are assessed against criteria in accordance with the relevant National Occupational Standards and approved by SummitSkills, who are the Sector Skills Council for the building services engineering sector. Once they have achieved the qualification, installers can apply to the NICEIC Competent Persons Scheme for Ventilation in order to self-certify their work in England and Wales.
At the end of the two-day course, attendees will be assessed in two parts: a theory based examination and a practical based examination to confirm whether installers meet the knowledge and practical skills required.
Larry Soper, technical training manager at EnviroVent, said: “We have invested a significant amount in our training centre and we are looking forward to offering this essential training course for ventilation installers. There are major opportunities for installers at the moment as both domestic and commercial users are aware of the importance of good indoor ventilation.”
